Does anyone have any evening routines they find helps them get a decent nights sleep?
I get about 4 hours on average a night, but I find I am both emotionally knackered from work and physically knackered from travel and FM pain and I feel I can sleep for 8 hours! I get 4…. What am I doing wrong?

I struggle to sleep, too. You're not doing anything wrong — it’s so hard. I think the trick is to experiment with creating your own night routine to see what helps.
I try to revert to what I did for my sons when they were little: warm bath, a book, and then sleep at the same time. I think we forget that as we grow up with need to give the same kindness to ourselves.
I don't have caffeine after 1 pm, no phone about an hour before bed, lavender sleep spray on my pillow, a nice warm bed and bed socks (honestly, I feel 92, not 42), and I make sure I use a spa-like face cream — sort of a routine to wind down.
Also, try going to sleep at roughly the same time every night in darkness as apparently your body has something called a Circadian Rhythm.
The more you think about it the more worried you'll get, and the more you worried you get the less you'll sleep,
It's really 💩💩💩 before I was sick I would go to bed around 11ish and wake up all smiley and stretch like I was a 🤬 Disney character🤔 Snow white, all that singing and joyfully bouncing around, off to the gym then go to work or head home to completely clean my whole house and still had the energy to take my dogs for a run in the woods!!!
I know I gabble on about all this 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and stuff, I think I must be up in the top 5 of writing novels instead of a quick word of encourage,😮💨 and breathe
It's because all these 🤬🤬🤬 that make FM is a really 💩 cruel that just takes everything you love in this world and takes a big o'l💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 on your life,
SORRY WHAT WAS YOUR QUESTION???? 😀😀😀😀 (sorry I get carried away with the emoji)
Last week I had a 30 min nap and couldn't sleep the same night I was just drifting, The sleep bods I saw gave me all the talk and said If I hadn't slept after 15 mins to get out of bed and go into a different room and quietly read for another 15 before trying again????? I bet she's never had a 💩 night sleep in her life, I tried it that way for a couple of nights but I'd woken 1 of my dogs insisting it was time to get out of her crate!!!
I'm happyish If I get 3hrs a night I feel i have done well, Before my latest hospital stay from the Sunday until the Tuesday I had 6hrs all together,😴😴😴😴
Even if I get an 8hr sleep (very rare) I still don't feel any better for it, No refreshed sleep for about 3 years now, I sort of just got on with it, The doc prescribed me Amertryp tablets which I take at 9 ( soposed to be asleep around 2 hrs later, I take 100ml and still don't get to sleep until 4 or 5 with or without so drugs are not always the best way to go,
If your'e not asleep reading this?? You do need help
(Just keeping things light otherwise I'd just sit in the corner and cry)
I hope you find a way to get your sleep issued soon 🥴🥴🥴🥴😴😴
Consistency is a key thing. I now have a strict regime to cope with this as I know I will wake up at 6am, so I aim to start getting ready for bed at 9.30pm with a view to turning out the lights at 10.30pm. I also aim to not eat or drink anything post 7pm in the evening if possible and to not use any electronic devices post 9pm. Once in bed I read a book to help me relax.
