ahh, that’s would drive me insane, do you have a neighbour or someone close by, that would let you log into theirs, until it is fixed, ??

Wishing you a merry Christmas, hopefully it won’t be too lonely, gentle hugs 🤗

It's how we should be, prepared to share our stuff with others. Makes the world kinder and happier, I think?

Oh dear, a good rule to live by is never ask a Fibro how they are doing. But, as you did ask...

My eyeballs are struggling ATM. Major headache situation. My surgery decided to stop my eye drops without consulting me. Why do they not arrive, I wondered?

EU hold-ups? Sounds likely? Nope.

Stopped production? Heaven forbid? Nope.

When I asked, the surgery offered to prescribe other stuff (which were out of stock everywhere. Again WHY?) then later, when I asked the surgery again, they admitted it was just them adhering to new Govt regs (as you do?). Just imagine if they had liaised with Pharmacies over this, so the businesses didn't get caught with stock they can't shift? Or find themselves unable to fulfil prescriptions? Do I get a say on what drops I get next? Not really, the surgery know best! It has all this new Govt guidance, so it's easy.

They then reissued the prescription I'd just told them was badly irritating my eyes and sent it to the wrong chemist.. When I finally got my meds and had to complain, they said it was OK because at least I had something that would tide me over the weekend. Which suggests our surgery, Friday afternoon was still dealing with too many people that didn't even have that!! Unbelievable.

I have a little stash now of failed meds and now, my poor Guinea Pig eyeballs and sockets are so irritated and painful, they won't settle, even since I've bought myself my regular (super expensive) drops; Happy Christmas to me?

My left eyeball feels like it's been poked with a poker! So painful! The opticians said, Ooh, that needs checking; Sounds like pressure build up. Eek! Emergency Appt required. Lucky for me it's free. But we had to wait till after Xmas.

What eyedrop to try next, I wondered? I offered a few suggestions based on previous experience. My out of depth GP (having caused the problem) wasn't impressed and suggested, I should get the Optician to figure it out.

Bless his heart, he said NO. Not his job. If the GP want's to wade around in this quagmire, they are welcome, but he's not stupid enough to wade in after them (or to change meds that are working). Hurrah! I think he was quite bemused having to do an emergency appt and having to admit, the likely cause of my sinister and painful symptoms is the surgery changing my prescription. On a day that might otherwise be fairly quiet, he looked to be busy with his emergency appts.

There is an ancient quotation that comes to mind, I don't know why, something like... 'First do no harm?' Curious huh? What did an old beardy geezer like Hippocrates know about medicine all the way back in the 5th century BCE?

My new drops have just arrived. Maybe they will be the charm? Fingers crossed.

Did you know that the third leading cause of death in the UK is Doctors incompetence, negligence and drug side effects? Some bright spark worked out in the US, Doctors are 9000 times more likely to cause death than Gun owners, yet no-one is campaigning for Doctors to be outlawed. A good reason to avoid the Quack if at all possible.

Oh my goodness, what a sham, sometimes I wonder about this country, and all the changes, not for the better, I might add, I’ve been having similar problems with one of my meds, but what can we do.

I hope the eye drops you finally have, help, it sounds awful, bless ya Al keep your chin up, and good luck with the surgery.

Hi, i rang them again, and it turns out there is no fault, someone at openreach accidently turned my line off! They admitted full responsibility and are sending me a temporary mini hub, until an engineer can get out and turn it back on. Still waiting. I dont have anyone, so, anyway its been nearly 2 weeks, i suppose another few days wont hurt. Thanks so much for your care and concern x
