Hi all, Any experience about lyrica drug to share with me, please?
lyrica(pregabalin): Hi all, Any... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
lyrica(pregabalin)
I've been on them for 10+ years with no major issues. They dont take pain away but reduce the intensity enough to allow me to function and live my life
I was on Pregablin, it didn't work as well as Gabapentin, although things were really good when I was on both at the same time but they wouldn't let me stay on both. When they took the Gabapentin away I went downhill so I was put back on Gabapentin, which was much cheaper at the time so the GP's were happy. The only thing I'd say to watch out for is weight gain, I had weight gain for both but it was much worse on Pregablin. I was so intensely hungry it was very noticeable, up until that point I'd always been underweight. Not anymore...
gain weight is a big issue for me 😞
very addictive on higher dose so hard to reduce. If I forget one dose I am very ill .When before a hospital procedure wrongly told not to take morning n night I ended up collapsing and up in hospital a moth.I have been on it for13 years now.As Hazel_Angelstar said., it reduces intensity of pain
I'm the exact same if I forget 1 dose I'm feeling awful as well. It's a horrible feeling and the effects are just terrible, however it does help with the pain!
I put 3 stone on in a few months with them. As soon as I came off them I went back to my normal weight. I am now on Duloxetine, it's much better for me and no weight gain.
Great drug. I was losing my mind with Fibromyalgia when my neurologist put me on Lyrica. It stopped my leg from jumping on its own due to joint pain, etc. Works great, I've been on it for 15 years.
I was on pregabalin. It was brilliant, really helped with reducing my pain a bit. Made life feel a bit more manageable. However it made me balloon and as usual the doctors were telling me to lose weight but even doing a keto diet I couldn't shake it. Came off it, lost all the weight and I'm only on duloxetine now with diclofenac to take when pain gets too bad.Good luck with it. Hope it works for you x
I was put onto Lyrica when I was in hospital with a compressed sciatic nerve. It was a life saver as the morphine wouldn't touch the incredible pain I was in. I was on 2x 75 mg a day. I had NO side effects, and it really relieved the pain. Enough for me to be mobile on crutches until the injury healed. It took five months but I am walking normally. I found I didn't need the nighttime dose as I was sleeping through the night with no pain. My doctor and I gradually reduced the dose to 25 mg a day, and now I have stopped them altogether. I have no side effects from withdrawal.
