injustice and chronic pain research study opportunity

Hi everyone, my name is Craig and I'm a clinical psychology doctorate student at Teesside University. I am currently recruiting individuals living with chronic pain to take part in my online study.

The aim of the research is to better understand the link between injury, injustice, and pain. I am hoping to publish the results in a pain management journal to help guide future research and treatment for those living with chronic pain.

To be eligible you need to:

> have experienced pain for 3 months or longer

> have experienced a previous injury; for example, accident at work, fall, car collision, burn, sporting injury etc..

Hello Graig, I tried but didn’t qualify for your study. I am always looking to participate in research on chronic pain management and in hopes that it will benefit everyone who is suffering with chronic pain conditions. I hope you are able to get a lot of qualifying participants for your study. So you are able to get a lot of information and as a result your paper is published and contributes to the benefit of chronic pain patients.

Sorry you were not eligible this time round, however, I would like to thank you for your time and consideration - it is very much appreciated.

We have recruited 50 people so far through this forum which has been fantastic (so thanks to everyone so far for giving up your time).

We do still need more participants in order to reach our target... but I'm hopeful we will get there!

Hi Craig, I won't be eligible for your study as I have not had an injury before suffering from fibromyalgia. I did have trauma and loss though. I recently belonged to a local fibromyalgia peer group and everyone there also had suffered bereavement and/or trauma before having fibromyalgia. Maybe something else to consider?

The connection between trauma, bereavement and fibromyalgia is a very important area that needs further study. You've given me food for thought about future research projects that I plan to run. Thank you for your advice.
