Hi there, I've recently been diagnosed with scoliosis,I noticed myself bending last year, hence had to give up work, it was the R.A. Nurse who told me I had it in our conversation at the beginning of this year, it's horrid, I am getting fed up with being told I've got something else wrong with me.

Sorry to hear this. I also have it slightly along with other spinal issues. I am guessing you was x rayed or scanned to allow the nurse to give you that kind of diagnoses.
Some people don't have any pain with it so I was told when I saw the specialist. But I'm guessing it depends on how severe the scoliosis is xx

I was advised to see the physiotherapist, she showed me my latest x-ray of my back & it's definitely curved to the left. She advised me to go to the local Hydrotherapy pool for 10 weekly sessions to see if it helps with the pain.
I have noticed though that when out walking I gets chest pains, which I know can come from the chest being compressed, I'm worried it's my heart.
I just realised also that the Methotrexate they put me on is making me allergic to the sun, I am a sun worshiper 🥰
But can't sit out without being covered up.
Hope your well.

I have had scoliosis since a teenager and had to wear a steel corset for two years which was very uncomfortable and did nothing for me.Dancing was my life along with sports but due to the pain ,had to pull back.
I have found the only thing that helps is movement. I do yoga, tai chi and walk.
I am lopsided and one leg is shorter than the other so I always have to alter the hem on any trousers, jeans etc.,
I have extra pain in one hip which juts out along with general pain in my spine.
I dress carefully so people don't notice.
I have had this now for 65yrs and have learned to live with it along with fibro so you can live with it if you keep moving.
