hi everyone, recently diagnosed after years of normal gp chaos. I finally have a great gp who has helped and listened so thank you doc. I have lots to find out, I’m reading and researching where I can it is a bit baffling. Anyway I have a question, I’m currently signed of work until the coming February not sure if I can go back at this stage, I work as a restaurant manager and it’s high octane physical and stressful. Of course I need the money unfortunately, I’m on stat sick pay at the mo and it doesn’t pay the bills, feeling stressed but also have a good network of people who kind of understand what I’m going through. I’m experiencing a lot of flare ups, depression and anxiety. My fatigue is a bit better but I’ve been off work for almost two month now. I just don’t know what to do or who to speak to. Many thanks to all of you. Best 💎

you have good and bad days and the weather can effect how you are listen to you body and there’s no harm in asking for help. Another thing is we can’t say no to others but sometimes we have to and apply for pip as well as blue badge. I get people look at you thinking your ok when your not it’s adjusting your self and it’s a different ability and hard dealing with flare ups isn’t easy body stiffness constantly in pain but thankful to be alive and able to walk.
Paracetamol Co codamol only help temporarily but don’t give up
Hello
Pleased you have a good GP 😊
Have you thought of applying for PIP? It can take a while to come through but is worth it.
There is a work and benefit website that will help you claim.
Good luck
😊
many thanks. I will have another look, I find it all a bit baffling at the moment but will try after the silly season .x
hey hun I didn’t know anything t first what I had until 2010 knowing that this problem is a disability it’s different ability that re-teaches us basic things we do daily like walking straight not on one side or shutting a child’s button on a shirt . For me it was hard at first thinking yes I don’t need help I’m independent but always saying yes helping but learning to say no I learnt is not being selfish or being hard on yourself .
You have to listen to your body take rests were needed work can be done later. I learnt that take something’s downstairs basics or what you need and leave them like pads as ibs plays up cream if you gave a toilet downstairs then easy access and don’t stress here to help even a chat no worries stay safe hun
