If you're interested in sifting the wheat from the chaff on the internet it's worth looking at this website - quackwatch.org.

I am thinking of some of you I have seen to have a healthy scepticism in your approach to health information on the web.

Since desperate people like us are especially vulnerable to misimformation, and smart people like us know there's a lot of misinformation out there, this website is particularly interesting.

I think it's to do with untrustworthy doctors being called 'quacks' in the old days

use the site often and has good info, Dr. Ben Goldacre is a UK person to follow doing the same sort of stuff.
