Hi so I’ve been signed off sick until February. I’m waiting for an assessment with PIP and UC. I’ve also been referred to mental health team waiting for an appointment.
Every time I go to the job centre they tell me I need to be looking for work even though I’ve got a sick note. This is really worrying me as I am not and do not feel well enough to work , due to the stiffness, pain and lack of sleep. I’m exhausted. I just feel nobody believes me or how much this condition really affects people.
With UC, you're treated as a jobseeker until such time as you get a decision following your work capability assessment. You'll need to keep providing continuous fit notes during this time.
Your work coach can reduce the requirement to look for work at their discretion if you let them know about your disability.
I've bean off work sick with stiffness pain and so stiff I was bed bound for 4 days at a time and needing crutches to get about. I'm due to go back to work on slow shifts spaced out. It is hard so hard because one day you can be ok the next no and flare ups come and go I feel for you I'm like that. Don't let that stress you out witch can make it worse. I can't understand people doing this when your ill I always say one day it could be them in our shoes . You shouldn't be made to look for work when your not well enough. These people have no idea what it's like. I hope you get everything sorted .
