I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia only last week , the consultant who diagnosed me thinks I have had this since 2017 as this is when I first went to my g.p with the symptoms after an accident. Can this progress as this seems to be going worse. The pins and needles in my scalp and my hand are occurring a lot more frequently ? Also today I have had pains in the back of my legs which I still have now. The only way I can describe it as someone is squeezing my legs hard. It is so painful .is this part of fibromyalgia? Thankyou everyone in advance

Hello and welcome to our group. You may like to take a look at a discussion we have on going at the moment about the progression or not of fibro. The link below will take you to the topic.healthunlocked.com/fibromya...
I have had fibro for 40 years and the one thing I personally have noticed that a lot of people after getting a diagnoses of not just fibro but most illnesses do tend to feel more symptoms. I do include myself in that.
I had to tell myself I am no different today than I was yesterday before I got the diagnosis. I also remind myself fibro is not terminal.
Please don't think you will feel all the symptoms you read about. We all suffer in different ways. Just like we all deal with our symptoms differently. What may help and work for me may do nothing to help the next person.

Hey Kazzza1976, there is a lot of content on here so just wanted to say take your time and don’t let it overwhelm you. Exactly what Dizzytwo said we are all different and I had to learn living with fibro through myself to how much I could do and listen to my body when I needed to rest. Alternative therapies have helped me tremendously. Well done for reaching out as this was something I didn’t do when I was diagnosed and wish I had.
