Is this fibromyalgia?

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but the diagnosis doesn’t sit right with me.

These are my symptoms.

It started with burning hands, and then like a warm sensation on the side of my face / head.

Severe muscle stiffness. Sensitive joints.

I get like a bruised feeling when I press certain parts of my body.

Can anyone relate?

Hello. you will read many posts here from members who say muscle stiffness, and sensitivity with their bodies are part of their daily symptoms with fibro, if you are not happy with your diagnosis perhaps have a 2nd opinion for a piece of mind. Was this diagnosis from your GP originally ? Good forum to have a read of posts and peoples experiences.

Hello, all those symptoms are indeed associated with fibromyalgia. But like Yassytina said you can always ask for another opinion! Did they do bloods etc to rule out other conditions? Typically a rheumatologist diagnoses fibro, however it seems like a lot of gps are diagnosing it now. I was diagnosed by a pain clinic consultant myself. I also questioned the diagnosis to start with, I was in denial for a long while, I think I wanted it to be something else that could be treated and cured!Ask for a second opinion to be sure.
