You should be fine on the dosage amounts although check the nHS choices website for codeine

Initial dose: 15 to 60 mg orally up to every 4 hours as neededMaximum dose: 360 mg in 24 hours

Don’t mess around with codeine, the liver turns it into opium, Ok not to frighten you, I would suggest go to bed, sleep it off, and very possibly you will be very constipated in the morning.?

Rather than opium I think you are thinking of morpheine. Also in this situation I would stay up for the 4 to 6 hour dose window rather than going to bed.

Not sure you are entirely accurate with your information. A liver can't ' turn ' codeine to opium

I take 60mg four times a day which is safe for me. However for your own safety you should always check with your GP or pharmacist before taking more codiene than prescribed. Codiene can interact with other medications and you could have been given a lower dose for good reason.

I have been prescribed codeine phosphate 30mg 1 or 2 to be taken every 4 hours. Hope that helps.

Not a doctor, but you might get itchy (all over), a little nauseated, sleepy, and maybe constipated tomorrow. If you are really worried ring 111 nhs advice or go to A&E. Codeine phosphate is one of the milder forms of codeine — imho you’ll probably be ok (again I’m no doctor).

You may feel very sick and wobbly. If your pain is really bad maybe give Doctor a ring hun. Codeine very constipating too. Take care xx
