Hi all I'm new here, I was diagnosed with fibro in Feb and awaiting on second referral to rheumatologist as well. I wanted to ask does anyone else feel so ill when they have a flare up, like it's viral. It always feels like I've got tonsillitis without the tonsil pain, I feel so rough. It's so confusing as sometimes I wonder if I have actually come down with a bug but usually just a fibro flare - anyone else?
Thank you π

Hello, I've also got CFS which I thought this was a symptom of that but yes I get sore throats and before I got diagnosed when I was living beyond what I could sustain I had sinus infections every couple of months which left me in bed for a week or two at a time. Monthly I still wonder if I've got a bug when I flair. For me, it's much worse if I'm regularly overdoing it. So if I pace myself everyday the sore throat and flu symptoms aren't as bad. It takes time to learn how to pace but listening to my body has really helped. Pushing through has set me back a lot.
I know it's hard especially wondering what is going on with your body and why all these weird things keep happening. You're not alone though and I feel for you.
Thank you Sleepyhead 22, that is very helpful to hear your experience, I still wonder sometimes if I have cfs or fibro, I know there is some overlap. What symptoms do you get when you get a sinus infection?
Fortunately I don't get them anymore but I still get flu symptoms and sore throat if I overdo it. But when I did get them it was like having the flu but with pain in sinuses and pressure headaches and when I'd go to the dr my sinuses would be inflamed and it wouldn't go away without a prescription.A lot of the symptoms for fibro and cfs overlap which can be confusing. I was diagnosed with cfs because my fatigue was worse than my pain at the time but was told I could get diagnosed with both. I think the way the treat them can be pretty similar though but it doesn't hurt to ask the dr about it if it puts your mind at rest.
All the best to you too.
Hi, and welcome.Yes I get the sore throatβs and flu like symptoms, it can last a couple of hours or weeks, also suffer with sinus and migraine, I hope yours eases soon. Try and rest as much as possible. Take care. π
Hello and welcome, yes I do get what your saying, sometimes I feel like Iβve been run over and can sleep most of the day , body will not go , so I go with it until I start to pick up , as frustrating as it is and sometimes we might have little plans Fibro strikes. I know what your saying though is it a viral bug , hard to tell sometimes. Xx
HI. I often say that I feel like I'm maybe fighting a bug. In other words I don't feel like I have a bug but I feel like my body is worn out by trying to fight something. It's very hard to explain the feeling but it's almost like you are coming down with a cold/flu but it never actually comes to anything! I get a lot of ear infections, water infections etc. I think sometimes my body is just tired. I would recommend trying to rest while you feel like this. I hope you feel better soon. x
