Costocondritis an fibro help !!!

Just been diagnosed with costocondritis an possible fibro is it hereditary its in the family ! I thought I was having heart attack awful pain all new to me this I don't know which way to turn !

Hi there and welcome, first thing I think you need to deep breath and relax. You need to remember neither fibro or costiochondritas are life threatening. It will not kill you.

Some members of the same family do have fibro. But whether its hereditary I'm not truly convinced to be honest.

I come from a very large family for example. I am the only one who suffers with it. None of my kids have it either thankfully.

The one thing I've learned in 40 years of having fibro is the more I worry and stress the more I hurt. The more I hurt the less I can do.

Hi Traci,I suffer with FIBRO, CFS and have very long bouts of bad Costochondritis.

It’s scary! Often worrying if it’s my heart.

After near two years it has recently subsided.

That said it’s always worse in cooler season…I’m sometimes wonder if it arthritic related as I also have arthritis in my spine and other areas. I have spinal problems.

I do hope yours improves soon. X
