Definitely probiotics should help. Get one with the most microbes in it. I don’t suffer from ins anymore and will also boost your immune system as well
Hi,
I have IBS with chronic constipation & most of the antidepressants my doctor suggests just constipate me more, but I have found a little relief from the fibromyalgia with Pregabalin. I think everyone has different side effects with drugs & some people have none, so the best you can do is try something & see how it works for you. I didn’t expect to be able to tolerate the side effects of Pregabalin but I’ve been ok & they do help a little. Good luck 😀
I had the same problem, tried all sorts of exclusion diets etc but found 'oil pulling' with coconut oil hugely helpful. It seemed too 'wacky' to work - but it did!
I take lactulose to relieve constipation from taking strong painkillers. I have gaviscon advance and omeprazole for reflux. I take Buscopan for the abdominal cramps.
My mother had a perforated bowel from her many medications for RA and her doctor said unless otherwise indicated on the prescription she should always have something to eat when taking meds, particularly the anti inflammatories, even if it is only a dry biscuit or piece of toast.
I have also followed this recommendation, it does help avoid that sicky feeling you sometimes get if you take meds without food.
These side effects on my skin or mucous membranes are the reason for me not to take meds... For IBS I carry out an elimination diet with a GI diary, and if necessary psyllium.
