I get sudden flare ups in my shoulder, usually brought on by cold. I have to immediately wrap up the shoulder with anything warm. It happens so fast, I don’t have time for a heating pad or medication. Luckily, the pain subsides pretty quickly, although not quick enough. I’m kind of like you in the cold department. My environment can’t be cold enough, so I’m having to do the balancing act. Hope this helps...❤️🏄‍♀️

Short sharp shocks of cold help my Ache & feverishness, heat pads my pains. Cold pads w'd be too long, but whole body cryotherapy 3', cold showering 2', or cold washing arms/wrists, and/or thighs, bathing hands in cold canola baths for 2' all help. Long cold as in outside/weather etc. used to be really bad for the Ache until TCM/acupressure activated my "inner cooking pot".

Thank u this has given me lots of info to look up and hopefully get some relief x

Go with whatever works for you. I’ve read quite a bit about the wild swimming Hidden mentions, anecdotally it is supposed to have a lot of benefits. I need to be warm but can’t stand being in a room that’s too warm! Makes me feel like I’m suffocating.

Have you tried a tens machine? I’ve found it’s one of the most helpful things I’ve used, along with Salonpas patches.

Thank you holly iv realy not tried anything apart from painkillers and i will look up about the tens machine x

Mine was only about £20 from Lloyds Pharmacy and the replacement pads are very cheap on Amazon.

Pregabalin can give you a flush of heat, in my experience. If you take it a little earlier before you try some sleep is an idea. Start with short doses of Tens to see if you can tolerate it you can play with frequency to get the best results for you. Best Wishes. Please update with other posts so others can benefit from you situation. That is why the forum is so useuful.

Hi Taffyapple 69. Im 65 and have had fibro since 2012. Ive tried all kinds of things, pills, rubs, heat pads, acupuncture etc. One thing that does work for me is a very cheap over the counter product called Freezegel. It comes in a tube or pot, is bright blue and very easy to spread all over the bits that hurt. I wake every night around 2.40am, the pain is extreme and i wake up moaning and shouting out its so bad. But if i rub the freezegel on straight away, it helps me to get back to sleep, even if it is only for a couple more hours. It takes about 30 seconds before you feel the cold penetrate the skin. I like to be warm, warm house, warm body, but when the pain strikes, the freezegel is amazing. Give it a try.

Hi sounds like you going to fit right in with your list of ailments just wondered what you using on your plantar fasciitis? I've found the only thing that helps me are homemade aromatherapy cream it's just basically a aveeno base cream with tea tree, lavender, frankincense and patchouli oil as they are antibacterial anti fungal the aveeno has to be the oat 1 but it's worth doing as it also stops the itching straight away. I also put plain porridge oats in a muslin bad and hang it over the hot tap so the water runs through it and then add just a couple drops of rose geranium and some vitamin e it really works for me and I now only have a couple of small patches on my ankles and top of 1 foot but I dont know any 1 else with it to find out what else you can use
