I was prescribed 75 mg of Lyrica (a lower dose is not available in my country) for fibromyalgia. It didn't work and the side effects were horrible so I stopped using it after 20 days. Unfortunately I got addicted and I've been going through withdrawal since 25 days. How longer would the withdrawal go for? I have high blood pressure, panic attacks, bad sleep and no appetite. Thank you.

Hi Fibro I was on lyrica 175 mg twice a day but it made me want to eat everything so stupidly I stopped it worst thing ever I had withdrawal for 5 days 4 of which I could not get out of bed, sweating, vomiting, stomach cramps when I told my doctor they said you have to wean off it slowly, unfortunately I am now back on it but 50 mg twice a day as it does take the edge off my neuropathy. I was told by my GP that it’s like a drug addict withdrawing from heroine I really hope yours does not go on much longer 🥰
Please speak to your GP or health care professional and take their direction. At 25 days you should be free the of the majority of the lyrica. Washout periods for RCTs on pregabalin and most drugs is 2 weeks.
Lyrica is used for FB and increasingly being prescribed for anxiety. I have both. I did get some relief with Lyrica but I put on 12KG in 9 months. I stopped taking the tablet cold turkey and had no withdrawal. Others beware. Weight gain is a known side effect. As always speak to your doctor.
