Well it’s been awhile since I posted anything think I just got the point of my flare up that I almost gave up. So glad I’m coming out the other side ... again! Looking forward to the next flare up already (not!) I’ve read quite a few articles lately that say you can grow out of Fibromyalgia is there actually anyone out there who has or knows someone who has ...

My daughter was told because she was only 18 when diagnosed she would grow out of it. She's 27 and it's still not happened - and I've had fibro since her birth and not happened to me either x

In a word- NO!

I don't think you grow out of it; You learn how to live with it and lessen its impact on your lifestyle. Or you change your lifestyle to one you can cope with, within the Fibro limits.

That is what has happened with me, at least.

It helps if you can get past the self-pity stage, to the one where you are determined to be the best you can, getting off as many drugs as possible ,especially antidepressants, and being firm with your GP.

YOU are the one living with the condition, not him, so to a great extent, you dictate to him, within reason.

If you are past the depression effect, get bloodyminded with yourself, and don't let the little voice that tells you that you can't beat you into submission, tell it to take a hike.

It's taken me several years to get to this, telling the little voice to go forth and multiply, but it helps.

I hope this helps you..

Cheers, Midori

I’ve never heard of too many people getting better from Fibro , from what I read here things can improve which is good news especially for you younger folk. I know a lot people will look at their diet, find ways to do gentle exercise and little things we can do naturally to help ease the pain such as pacing , meditation, positive thinking, yoga, heat pads, rub in gel pain relief. Soak in the bath anything that lessens the aches /pains. Always good to come out the other side isn’t it, xxx
