I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in January but I've had it for years. I dont take any medications but I am really struggling with the pain at the moment. Pain in my back and ribs is the worst as well as this I have headaches and IBS. I am struggling to exercise to loose weight as I I am overweight. All the above is affecting my mood feeling so low and alone to be honest. Please help! Shall I try some form of medication? I'm just not coping like I usually do. Thank you

If I was you contact you gp and say what is going on and they can advise you of what they suggest
Ok thank you I will do that
Hi there nice to meet you may I suggest you speak with your GP. Taking medication for anything should be talked over with your doctor.
For many taking medication for fibro can be trail and error. It may help some a little but do nothing for others I'm afraid. I've had Fibro for 35 years and I'm one of the people who can't take medication.
There are other things to try like pain clinics, hydrotherapy etc. But again you would have to speak to your GP. I wish you luck and hope you find something that helps you x

If you are offered medication I would take it.some gps dont offer or even believe it's a real disease.Being in pain makes you miserable and being able to function so talk with your gp for help
Morning , differently take dizzytwo s advice speak to your doctor, yes it can be very much trial and error until we find something that suites, fibro can hit us with a mixture of symtoms, I know very hard wanting to excercise and lose weight when your in pain, doctor can refer you to a pain clinic. Swimming is an all round good excercise but gently strokes, now pools are open but again speak to your doctor 1st. I hope it’s helpful to read posts and info here , a big club we are in unfortunately, but take care and let us know how you get on with any progress xxx
Hi, my advice would be to speak to your GP or rheumatologist. You need to get some pain relief, it's so depressing when you're in pain, get some help, don't suffer unnecessarily! Hope you get sorted x
