this could just be an example of availability heuristic because you know these people and therefore the correlation presents itself. But I have not read of a causal link. However, as it is a traumatic event that puts body under stress it would not surprise me if some people have fibro after something like this.

But it would rely on them having the right (wrong) genetic makeup to put them at risk of fibro in the first place.

Hi there, Welcome to our community :) I am sorry but I don't know the statistics on woman with fibro getting breast cancer so am unable to answer your question. But I have never heard it been associated with cancer myself.

I haven't heard of a link and I suppose if one where to do a venn diagram of people with fibro and people with breast cancer sooner or later one would come across some unfortunate enough to have both.

Hi, I have heard of people who have had cancer developing fibromyalgia. I read a lot of research Papers and can never remember any mention of an association between fibromyalgia and breast cancer. I have emphysema and 25% of the people I know in that site have fibromyalgia. Is there a link ....No...Mainly due to more having Arthritis. Linking conditions can often lead to misleading but very understandable concerns.

Hi I am not sure of a link with fibro and breast cancer but I do know there is a link with Fentanyl and breast cancer.

I have a paper on the link which was published three or four years ago and have been treated by the consultant who wrote it. Needless to say I came off fentanyl as soon as I could. I am not sure the fentanyl caused my breast cancer but was convinced it could help it return.
