I'm hoping I can get a little bit of advise/insight in to what works better for people living with Fibro. I've only very recently been diagnosed and was put straight on a mild antidepressant, at the time I was frightened by how my body was suffering so I just went along with it but now I am considering more natural, herbal methods.
Does anyone have any experience of either/ both methods?
Thank you all, stay healthy

My personal view on western verses natural remedies is I would prefer to use natural but I have not been able to fully. I use a mixture of the two. Either one can affect us all differently so it would be hard to say for each individual because we are all different. Have you spoken to your doctor about maybe trying some? If you were to try both you would need to make sure they don't interact with each other.
Hi, I don't have advise but can share with you my experience with Fibromyalgia so far.
I was diagnosed around 12 months ago and my dr. suggested anti depressants which I refused. I looked into what may have caused my fibro (stress) and am trying to be kind to my body and mind. Vegan/vegetarian food choice, no alcohol, daily meditation.
I DO take a daily dose of Ashwagandaha, 5-HTP and Hemp seed Oil. I have recently began a daily dose of CBD oil (purchased online from CBD Brothers). All I know is that if I fail to take my 'remedies' for a few days I can feel my body tighten up and begin to ache. When I wake in the night I meditate with my phone app Insight Timer. And strong coffee is how I start my day.
I am a mum of 3, self employed and working a lot of hours to keep us going. I do rest when I'm not working though and my children (14,13, 8) are amazing. Fibro is such a complex illness I have struggled to tell people (work, family) and for now am choosing to live very quietly with my work and children. I think being thankful for what we do have is good for our bodies and mind.
I hope you find some comfort somewhere. Very best wishes, Kerry
and 'remedies' and they talk a fair bit about fibro in the series so I thought I would give it a go. I can't say I have noticed a big difference in the 10 days but I'm feeling fairly positive about the idea of the oil and it is still early days.
