I have had fibro for 15 years plus, it was very hard to get my head around the condition but very quickly learnt that I had to readjust my life. I learnt that sitting at home feeling sorry for yourself was not an option for me. You have to place yourself and you will soon learn that if you get pain in the centre of your rib cage (chest) stop, if you start with a migraine headache stop. The best thing is keeping fit, keeping your weight at a sensible range, and up most be social. I say these things because after meeting many people with fibro alot of them start to do things then drop of. I swim three times a week not only is it good for you it is also sociable. Try Palates, Ti chi, Yoga, walking and if possible with friends. But the most important thing is keep a positive mind and listen to you body it will tell if your doing to much. Good luck and keep your chin up it's not the end of the world and as I often say fibro will not kill me. So get cracking and keep moving it's to your advantage.

Fibro fight back
I'm with you 100% ! Whining and self pity are indulgences that lead nowhere except down in my experience. I swim once a week. I do Pilates for 2 terms a year. I mostly play lawn bowls, it makes me sociable and keeps me bending and stretching. My rule is simple either fibro rules me or me Fibro. It is not to say i can't get down over pain and sleeplessness. However I get out of the house everyday. Weight control as you age is vital. Sadly some struggle with motivation to lose pounds/stones. I often think they should visit a hospital where cardiac and lung patients illustrate the obvious requirement to watch what you eat and exercise regularly.
I'm with you. Must start a positive club.😅😅😅
Hi Gooddaysunshine. I'm new here so please be kind!!! Oh i do so very much agree with all you say. I don't know how long I've had fibromyalgia due to a bad doctor. I was told for about ten years it's arthritis. Yes I know I've got that but when I started having blood tests she sent me to Rheumatology and Consultant asked me how on earth i'd coped for so long obviously in constant pain. My tests showed pain levels at severist. I am however 73 going on 30 and many people think there's nothing wrong with me. Put it down to mind over matter or whatever but try to keep positive and my fur boy, 16year old puss is my saviour..and when I am having a bad day and laying on bed yes and crying he never leaves my side. I send all of you love and positive thoughts. BoohPear. xx😻
