New disability living allowance?

Hi, after some advice please I have fibro and lupus. I’m lucky that I’m able to work and I also have a husband and one year old daughter. Since having my daughter I have especially struggled to get on top of the housework as if I do a days cleaning it writes another day off and I don’t want to waste time with my daughter! So I was thinking of getting a cleaner, a friend said I may be able to claim disability allowance to pay for it? Does anyone have experience with this or know how to go about it? Thank you

Good morning, sorry to hear of your house keeping problem, you are not alone getting a routine for yourself and baby is the first step and accepting the fact that you may have been house proud can not no longer be achieved. You cannot claim DLA but you could try claiming PIP, firstly look at the PIP descriptors and see how these impact on your life. Remember that you need 8 points for either daily living or mobility to get the basic award or 12 point for enhanced. To find out more Goggle PIP, how do I claim, PIP descriptors ect

What matters is not your medical diagnosis but what you can and can't do. You are assessed against a scoring system. The booklet explains all of that.
