How do you deal with ur work when they don’t understand your condition and expect you to rush back to work when your body aches all over lack of sleep and no energy
Hi all: How do you deal with ur work... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Hi all
I dealt with it by having a few weeks off sick with a sick note from G.P. if you are worried about pay when off sick you could apply for ESA to help you, (I did and got it) I am sure your g.p would support that if you need up to 6 weeks off. You can,t possibly do you job safely or professionally if your mind is disturbed by pain and tiredness.
That’s what am thinking I work with learning difficulties it’s hard as it is
Perhaps you should ask for an OH assessment. They could then look at making reasonable adjustments for you. It would also help them understand exactly what fibro means for you. I hated the idea when I had to go through it but with hindsight it was the best thing that could have happened. My work life is easier now and I haven't had a day off for one year now (well end of this month!)
Fudge , it’s about finding the balance that works for you , as others have said speak to your dr and get a note - it’s no longer an automatic sign off note - the doctor can suggest s phased return or other options to help you back to work. Speak to your employers make them aware of what would help you to return to work - if they aren’t prepared to listen then speak to acas about your options etc but they have to make reasonable adjustments and refusal to do so could mean they are breaking the law (regardless if they understand your condition etc) if it’s a big firm talk to the hr department and see if they’ll refer you to occupational health.
Hope things work out for you though
Thanks all for your support cx
