Hi all,

I thought I would pass this on in case it helps anyone.

After a clerical mess up by my doctor's surgery, my rhuematologist appointment was moved back three months...

They have been bending over BACKWARDS to sort it out after I wrote a long and detailed email iterating my annoyance, and, be most importantly, I cc'd the local CCG into the email. I now have an appointment in a month with the surgery chasing a quicker appointment for me. They have been sending me a flurry of emails to sort it, with a member of the CCG emailing me to show he had checked the situation out.

Might be worth considering if your GP is giving you the run around.

Scott

I have waited since July 17 for Rhemi appointment. Last week received phone call would I go on Saturday as they were doing an extra clinic. Unfortunately nothing was done re Fibro because they focused on pain issues which cannot be resolved. Mostly arthritis caused by broken lag and four lots of surgery to try and fix. Now left with severe twists in spine nothing helps on leg much shorter. Never mind I know many of you struggle with health and I am comforted by the friendship here. Sorry to ramble on. Hope everyone is having a reasonable good day. Mav🐬🤗🤗

That's over a year! I would contact your CCG. It is written into the NHS Constitution that if you cannot be seen within 18 weeks they should be offering you private options. I was recently faced with an 8 month wait (until this coming July!!) for Cholecystectomy (Gallbladder surgery) after several months of extreme problems. I reminded my GP of my rights and had it removed in January.

Don't take any cr*p; you need to be prepared to moan, complain and fight to get anything in the NHS these days.
