Hi there nice to meet you Bigbluefish08 welcome to our group :) I think everyone has their own way of dealing with their pain. Pain feels different from person to person. Some find relief taking a cocktail of prescription medication others go the other route Heat, cold, tens machines, etc and many use a mixture of everything. It takes time and trial and error to find out what may help you. What works for one may not work for others. It's a very individual process.

I find a heating pad and gentle massage helps. Above all, don't let this overpower you and try to stay positive. I wish you the best.

I was where you are last week and Pharmacist suggested Arnica gel eases the pain and is a natural remedy from any Pharmacy. It did work and help the continual pain, in a gentle manner. She also suggested a Wheat bag, this you put in the microwave mine is 850 W and needs 90 seconds, this is great and helped. She also suggested to mix it with cold bags and massage. The other thing is PACE your life I.e peel veg and do preparation in the morning and then do the cooking later in the day. Hope you get something to help, Hazels ideas are great. See if your doctor will send you to a Pain Clinic which deals with Chronic Pain, it is about 3 weeks long, it is excellent as they get you to start exercising again and do not push you over your pain limit and exercise moves are only about 3 seconds long to start. Good luck, it is the only thing "Free in life"

Agree with heat and arnica cream also Epsom salts, very good for muscular pain and restless legs. I also use a small handheld tens machine. Hot stones massage and Bowen therapy, gentle.

Hi Hun, I’m on a number of different medications and I also use heat pads, hot water bottle and have Epsom salts bath. However, if this weekend is anything to go by then nothing touches the pain. Hope you’re not suffering too much Hun. Take care xx

a very varied combination depending on the type of pain, what has caused it, where I am etc .... but includes medication; holistic therapies, cbd, heat, stretching exercises, distraction techniques - mainly crafting (crochet, colouring in, knitting, cross stitch, card making etc), relaxation, mindfulness, general meditation ... pacing, resting, planning activities to minimise pain etc .

what works one day might not always work the next ... so often its working through everything in my pain toolkit to find the best solution for that point in time.

a good website for pain management techniques is the Pain Toolkit paintoolkit.org

The trouble with Fibromylagia is it varies from person to person, and from week to week.

Today I've been ok, walked about 2 miles with my dogs and could have walked farther. Cleaned a couple of rooms, hoovered and steamed floors.

Go back to Saturday I was laid in my bed sobbing, could not stop the pain in my head, neck and shoulders. Painkillers, wheat bags, pain patches, cream massaged into neck--- no relief. Went on all night. Yesterday morning got out of bed to let dogs out and passed out in the kitchen ( could only think it was the cocodamol I'd taken, though 2 at a time, 4 hours apart) utter bl**** misery. Yesterday evening the pain started to wain.

Just try all the things you can, rest all you can, reduce stimuli ( lights, tv ). Pace yourself ( I found that so hard to do) Perhaps ask your GP about a pain clinic.

hello, it may sound a bit strange but the only way i can get relief from my pains, all be it very short term relief of about a few minutes, is i get my husband to squeeze the said part i.e. hand wrist or arm etc with all his might and strength. (my pains are constantly there and i feel like my skeleton is bruised and burning with a dull ache) when my hubby lets go after a few seconds of inflicting more pain, the instant relief i get takes all the pain away from that area. Although it don't last long and sometimes gives me bruises i have to get him to do it cause to me it is worth having that short time of relief. its kind of like pushing on a tooth that is hurting..when you let go you have a rush of pain free lol
