Hi Sueblay

Although I replied to your other post, I would like to say that there are an array of medications that you could discuss with your doctor or medical specialist my friend. The main medication that most members appear to take is Amitriptyline which can also help you sleep. I personally use Nortriptyline, Pregabalin, Cocodamol, Nefopam and Sumatriptan (for migraines). I also have a great deal of other medications but these are for other conditions. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hello Sueblay

I just wanted to wish you a very warm welcome to the forum :)

You will tend to get more replies to posts if you lock each one of them.

I have written an easy to follow guide on how to lock your posts:

healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

If you click on the blue line above, the guide will pop up. If you find that you still need some help, please don't hesitate to give me a shout and I'll be more than happy to help you.

I have Fibro, ME, HMS, PTSD, anxiety and depression so am on a cocktail of different meds to help me get by each day.

Personally I don't feel happy discussing meds because what works for one person can actually make someone else very ill.

Out of interest did the consultant who diagnosed you, not prescribe you with any medication?

Medication is very much a matter of trial and error for each person and it can take quite a while to get the right set of drugs that work for you personally.

Once again a very warm welcome to the forum :)

Wishing you a peaceful day.

Hello and welcome......I am sure you will find lots of useful info here....Are you on any meds? Have you been referred to Pain Management ....Your GP can help you with this! We are a great group of friends here so please do keep chatting.....we moan, groan, cry and laugh a lot and the funny thing is we would walk passed each other in the street without knowing....xx

Thank you

I'm on Amitriptyline ,codeine and tramadol at the moment but find it helps with some of the pain but nothing helps take the pain away in my knees for some reason.

When I go back to see the specialist in July I'm hoping she will be able to help. I feel better justs knowing that there are good people out there like yourself who we can talk to.

Thanks again Sue

Hello. I was only diagnosed a month ago and haven't seen my GP yet, mainly because they've not treated anything successfully in the past !

I've started on Ayurveidic medicine. Too early to know if it's working but I don't feel any worse.

For pain I use paracetamol and ibuprofen, and co codamol if it gets really bad. I use a cream called Perskindol Active Gel on my neck, helps every time.

I'm also taking 2500 mg of Turmetic per day and use Magnesium spray on my feet at night ( I bought the Goodnight version on Amazon) it's stopped the restless legs I've had for years.

I've also downloaded an App called Relax Melodies which I've found really helpful.

If you decide to use any natural treatments it's advisable to tell your GP as you don't want to take any prescribed meds that won't interact.

The thing I find most difficult is pacing myself and I'm learning the hard way. I've tried to do too much today because I felt slightly better this morning. The headache is now kicking in, aching hips, shoulders and neck.

I've read so much good advice here--- you've certainly come to the right place.

Thank you

I have already been given some really good advice and it makes you feel better knowing there are people out there that you can talk to. I also find it hard to change and pace myself as I was always 100 mile an hour at what ever I did, and like you on a good day I think I can do anything but pay the day after.
