Just thought I would say hi. Had my rheumatology appointment today. I was expecting him to be looking into me potentially having Lupus and was given a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. Totally unexpected and has left me a little bit lost. I have no idea where to go from here 😞 xx

Hi
Hello Pamela81
Welcome to our lovely forum
Wow! That must have come as a bit of a shock to you.
I don't know if this helps, but the way you are feeling is completely normal, especially if you were not expecting a Fibro diagnosis.
I have lived with Fibro & ME for 36 years. My best advice to you would be to take some time out (in your head) to process and start learning to come to terms with your diagnosis.
The second thing I would suggest would be to learn as much as you possibly can about how your Fibro affects you.
Fibro is tailor made to each individual and we all suffer to very different degrees and have different symptoms.
If you take a look at our mother site you will find lots of info about Fibro on there fmauk.org
I don't want to overwhelm you, so I will leave it there for now.
However, you have definitely come to the right place for lots of support, advice and help.
All of our members have Fibro as do all of the Admin Team.
Wishing you a peaceful evening

PS The forum can be much quieter over the weekends, so please do look in on us during the week.
Yeah it did come as a shock. I definitely didn't expect it. Thank you for your support. I'll have a look at the website.
Hope to get to know everyone better

Hi Pamela81 I really do wish you well on the forum and say a big welcome.
Good luck
Hello Pamela81 and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can find advice, support, help, understanding and friendship.
Fibro can come as a bit of a shock when you were expecting a different diagnosis and in most cases it does take time to get used to. I suggest you find out as much as you can from our mother site fmauk.org and the NHS site nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibromyal...
Also if you scroll down to the bottom of the page on the right of your post, you will see Topics, including symptoms and treatments.
Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.
Kay
