Hello and welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can find help, advice, support and understanding, along with a chuckle or two to lighten the day.
Have you seen our Mother Site fmauk.org ? Here you will find a wealth of information including links and guides.
I am sorry I cannot help you with your sore mouth except perhaps to take a mouthful of warm salty water, sluice it round and spit out.
If this is a new symptom, I suggest you see your doctor.
Hope to see you posting around the forum.

Hi I also get the feeling that my tongue has been scalded sometimes had this on and off for a long time so would also be interested on any thoughts on this.
Hi jayne0079 yes I have that too. You've discribed it well. Tonge feels burnt. Not sure if it's related to fibro but it wouldn't surprise me.
Take care

I've got a couple of ideas. When mine hurts it's sometimes been burnt as others have said. I've eaten something a little too hot and didn't notice I'd burnt it. Other times the roof of my mouth hurts and that means I've eaten crispy toast or croutons or similar and they've scraped the roof of my mouth. I simply can't eat these things at all without an injury.
Lastly you can take a look and see if you have sore looking places somewhat like canker sores but more shaped like longish white lines...these are lichen planus of the mouth. It also appears on your skin as a pink/red rash that itches. I don't know if you can get it in both places at once. I hope whatever it is it goes away very soon!
Hi there
Do you have ulcers in your mouth as well as it being so sore?
There is a condition called Burning Mouth Syndrome which does exactly what it sounds like.
It makes you feel as though your mouth is burning especially when you are eating.
I have had it several times since around June last year.
Does it sound as though it could be that?
If so it is, according to my dentist, a classic case of deficiency of vitamin B12.

Hi jayne0079
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering with this issue. As BlueMermaid3 says, there is a condition called: ''Burning mouth Syndrome'' and I have pasted an excerpt below from the *DentalHealth website below:
*Some people have the burning feeling all the time. For others, the pain comes and goes. Other symptoms may include numbness or tingling of your mouth or tongue, a bitter or metallic taste, or a dry or sore mouth. People often describe BMS as feeling like you have scalded your mouth with hot food or drink.
It may prove beneficial to get this checked out just to have other medical conditions ruled out of the equation? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hi I also get this on and off where the roof of my mouth feels burnt( but is not) and all the skin peels off and hangs down!( sounds disgusting) also my throat closes quite a lot ! Over the years I've worked out it's when I'm having a bad flare up and exhausted!
My pain Consultant just dismisses it as if I'm mad!!
Take care xxx
Hi hope this helps I have the same problem and it turns out I have acid reflux.
Yes, I have this TOO! Mercy! Is there anything I don't have? Don't answer that.LOL My husband(MS) has burning tongue, mouth, dry mouth,as do I. That terrible scalded feeling on tongue. Also, the tender roof of mouth - dry toast, anything that scratches will tear it! Now, the inside of my mouth, particularly in front of lower and upper teeth the skin peels (icky). This started about 6 months ago. Running me nuts! Does anyone here have this too? Yes, I have acid reflux too, but am on RX medicine(Zantac) since 2012(this time) Diagnosed in 70's.
Everything is either Fibromyalgia (me) or MS (husband) per doctors. I get TIRED of that too! Just ranting this last bit, sorry!😊💗.
Big soft hugs to alk, Mary
Yes, I get a very sore tongue that has a beautifilly crimped edge as it pushes against my teeth and have also had weird tastes at random times in the past including metallic & sweet. Neither doctor nor dentist very helpful or able to suggest a cause. I wonder if it's caused by the tongue going into a very strong spasm, just like other muscles? Wearing a mouth guard at night and trying to consciously relax my tongue and doing my best to keep it from pushing against the back of my teeth helps when it's very sore and I also find Aloe Vera gel helps it to heal. Another one of the weird and wonderful symptoms of Fibromyalgia - it's no wonder other people find it difficult to understand that one condition can cause such a diverse combination of symptoms that come and go randomly. Never a dull day!
