Hi there

Welcome to the forum :)

Quite a few GP's prefer the patient's Rheumatologist to sort out the correct medication.

You could ask your GP if they would refer you to a Pain Clinic for them to sort out a different type of medication for you to try.

Have you tried many different pain killers? It could be that your GP has tried you on everything they can think of.

If you feel that your GP does not have your best interests in mind it could be that you need to change your GP or even move to a new surgery.

Sometimes with Fibromyalgia it just isn't possible to get pain completely under control unfortunately.

I suffer with severe pain 24/7 even though I am on some strong pain killers.

I hope that you enjoy being part of the forum.

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Hi Collettebale66,

I think the NHS have advised GPs to reduce the amount of meds that are prescribed to patients, resulting in leaving us all in pain and looking else were for help.

Hi Collettebale66 and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum, where you can find help, understanding, support and advice.

Have you seen our Mother Site fmauk.org ?

Here you will find a wealth of information including guides and links.

If you look to the right of the screen, you will see Topics. Included in this is Symptoms and Treatments and will be worth a look to see other members experiences.

I do hope we will see you more around the forum.

Hi Collettebale66

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I would ask your doctor for some referrals as the consultants may amend our medication? maybe a pain clinic or a Rheumatologist? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
