That is true, but it is how you deal with it that matters. I try to be upbeat and think of all the people with fatal conditions, fibro is definitely not that.

I do get my moments, times when all my autoimmune conditions decide to join the fibro and play havoc with my pain sensors, but usually a bit of a distraction, plenty of rest and a good long sleep with maximum allowed painkillers sort that out.

Research is being carried out all the time so there is hope for a cure, just wish they would hurry up!

I think we all agree with you on this horrid illness....but if you fight it it will win!! Learning to live with it is so important but takes time and suitable medication....We all push ourselves over the limit at times and we suffer for it, but you do get to learn the boundaries for Fibro.....I send you gentle hugs.....xx

I agree with bluebell above, I'm glad it's not something worse - I've lost a husband and various relatives to cancer. But it's still rubbish. Especially when a lot of people have never heard of it and worse don't believe it exists. I recently had to have tests for something unrelated and the medical professionals there just raised an eyebrow when I said I'd been to a rheumy for tests about fibro. I got the impression it wasn't taken seriously. So now I just tell people it's a type of arthritis. I just make the most of a 'good' day and hunker down when I'm having a flare. I don't know what else to say, try to be positive. There are all sorts of research going on, maybe one day they'll come up with some proper treatment for it? Take care all xx
