Hi All. I have just found this group and hope to learn and maybe be able to contribute to discussions. I have had osteoarthritis for a number of years but was only diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple of years ago although I think I have had it for a number of years. Because I also have coronary heart disease I am very limited to the pain relief I am able to take. Would be interested in finding out have others cope with the pain.

Hello and welcome to our friendly forum where you will find advice, support, help and humour.
More information about fibromyalgia can be found on our mother site fmauk.org
There are many ways people try to cope with the pain. Sometimes it is distraction, other times medication, heat, exercise, and more.
What can work for one person can aggravate another so I am afraid it is trial and error.
It may be worth asking for a referral to a Pain Clinic for more advice.
Hope to see you posting on the forum again.
Hi Aggie welcome to our world. Sorry you have fibro on top of everything else you suffer with. We all know what a life changing illness it can be. We're a friendly bunch. We laugh together and also cry at times but overall we support one another. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like there is almost always someone around 24/7. Hope you enjoy the site as much as we do. Take care x

Hi Aggie and Welcome.....I am sure you will find this forum of fibropeeps will give you advise, support, information and a giggle.....Lots of useful links re. pain management. I can take Tramadol. co-dydramol, amitriptyline but I don't have a heart condition so not sure about what you could take. I am sure there is someone here who has the answer though. Do ask your Dr. to refer you to Pain Management as this can help no end.....Hugs xx
Just like to say welcome to the forum. As I fortunately don't have heart disease I can't help you on the meds front. Iknow my friend who has COPD and kidney problems is limited with the pain meds she can take. As Trikki says could a referral to a Pain specialist help as they are trained in juggling meds. to suit various conditions. Look forward to your future posts.x
