Hi everyone. I'm new to the group but a constant reader for some time. This forum is so informative and this has prompted me to become an active member. I need help with finding a support group in North London. I have tried endlessly but unsuccessful.

Hi Donarie,
Welcome to our lovely forum 😊
If you go to our mother site fmauk.org amongst a lot of very useful general information you will be able to find a list of some of the support groups throughout the country Hopefully there will be one local to you which you may be able to join, and benefit from.
Sending lots of positive healing vibes your way 😊😊
Foggy x

Nice to meet you as my youngest would say hand held out in welcome 👋
Sorry been having a silly evening with my girls and dogs .
And in case anyone else reads this Charlotte bought Good housekeeping Christmas magazine today ,don't bother it's just full of adverts, slightly off topic.
This site is amazing as I said I live in Wales , and new nothing of fibro if anything I was a ignorant fool who thought it was like yuppie flu , and faught my diagnosis for 3 years till my body gave up , with the help of the Author, ,foggy ,rose wine ,tireadalot, hamble ,gins , mr B , zeb the fluffmeister ,and gins and Betty they helped me come to terms with advise , and information and stopped me feeling so alone and helpless,I hope you find the help and support I received here to help you with your journey .
Hugs

Hi Shadow. Nice to meet you nice and thanks for the warm welcome. Shadow you might not be able to help me with this venture now but as a newbie your response kept me company during my sleepless hours. Good on you. All contributions are appreciated by someone out there so never say never.
When you have been ill for such a long time (fibromyalgia prolapse discs oestoarthritis heel spurs and now femoroacetabular impingement) you feel alienated. So it is nice to hear from others experiencing same difficulties as you because it lifts your spirit and changes your focus.
Have a good day

Second attempt hit the wrong button and lost post 😤
Nice to see you here to ,
I have no idea what you last condition is ,but fibro has a way of sneaking in and tacking over and stumping most health professionals.
I am havein a bed day again today as have been having major flare for months now , and haven't been able to get it under control due to outside influences,
Hope your having a good day
Hugs Chris x
Hi Chris
I received the results of my pelvis and hip xray through the post last Saturday. The rheumatoid consultant copied me into a letter stressed to my gp confirming a lot of my symptoms and presentation which suggests femoroacetabular impingement in the hip socket with possible labral tear. I await orthopaedic input.
I am having another bed day with back and hip pain.
Hope you feel better soon.
Donarie x
Gosh that sounds painful , ! Me I spent the day in bed should of seen advocate but my house hold has been somewhat chaotic of late ,so have put her off for two weeks . Need to get my flare under control again so am trying to rest , hope they sort you out soon , it sounds dreadful what you have ,
Hugs
Chris 🤗
I live in North London as well (N22). When I was first diagnosed about 5 years ago I tried to find a support group but to no avail. I considered trying to set one up but don't really know how. If there are a few of us though, maybe we could meet in a local café and discuss where we could have a proper regular meeting. Wood Green library has meeting spaces. Let me know if this is near you.
Hello TIDDLY WOW! NEW BEGINNING
I am so happy to hear from you. I live in turnpike lane only down road from you. May be we can meet up for tea and coffee and make plans to start a group. So all you fibromyalgia readers in and around that area get in touch and let us take action to support each other locally. Wood Green library would be fab.
I await news from you.
All the best.
Donarie x

hi, I just joined this forum, I have Fibro and suffering quite bad with this, would like some info of what you take and what your symptoms are just to compare, would like to hear from you
Hi l've just joined the forum as well but have had Fibro for many years and M.E/CFS before that. It's knowing where to start when it comes to symptoms! How long have you had Fibro?
Hi I believe I have had this for years but only diagnosed 2 years ago, im also diabetic, I am really struggling at the moment, have been given lots of different medication but none seem to help, what medication are you on and do it help.
Hi and welcome to the group. I have had symptoms for several years but only diagnosed 2 years ago. I started off with a mytriptyilin but had some side effects. My consultant replaced it with duloxetine with very good response. I also take indomethacin and use Burns patches for pain relief for prolapse discs and hip pain after a fall
However mess differ with individuals it's not one size fits all. It's trial and error. I hope you both get to that point very soon beca use I remember when I start ed the symptoms were severe.
All the best
Gentle hugs x
