Hi Anneadams

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry that you are experiencing such bruising to your arms and I must admit that it is not something that I have with my Fibro. I hope that other members can come along and say if they experience this issue?

I am aware of a condition with diabetes that can cause bruising called Acanthosis Nigricans, but this is usually bruising in the folds of the skin. I was wondering if you use any kinds of supports that could be bruising your arms? I use elbow supports sometimes due to arthritis and I get bruising on occasion from these.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

It's me again ,what are elbow supports Ken?

They are just an elasticated material that give me support (and warmth) as my arthritis is really painful in the cold weather. I got them from a pharmacy quite a few years ago. They have a little patch at the elbow for comfort which is really good!

They also come in wrist, knee and ankle / foot supports too.

Ah! I know what you mean ,my elbows and shoulders are playing up know and I have been told less walking 😕 and more use of scooter ,thought they might help , it's amazing how all my joints are know starting to complain ,as long as I sit still for a day I am fine if I start trying to do things I hurt ,even using iPad makes my hands hurt 😕

Never mind

Keep smiling 😀😀😀😀

Don't sit still and do nothing that is worse on the body. You need to keep your body in motion but don't over do your body. Your body is like your brain if you don't use it and keep it active it will stop working correctly.

I don't know if a symptom but oh yes sometimes it looks like I have been beaten!

If you are taking steroids for anything, they cause thinning of the skin and you bruise easily especially on your arms which are bumped quite often during the day.

Hi there

I've belonged to the forum since 2012 and this is something that has come up regularly over the years.

It does seem, from the responses we've had before that this certainly is a common theme with Fibro.

Yet another thing to that never ending list!

hi mrs I have fibromyalgia do you take inhalers or steroids .

I am taking blood thinning tablets and am always covered in bruises. I don't think it is anything to do with fibromyalgia as I supposedly have this complaint. The only

Symptoms I have is the plainful joints and feeling tired all the time.

I get bruising that generally show up after muscle spasms. I was told by my gp that the spasms were a part of fibromyalgia..and the intensity of the spasms leave the bruising.

If you are worried pop to see your GP, without scaring you other illnesses can and do manifest themselves with bruising as a symptom.....get yourself checked to be safe! Warm wishes for good health.

As an insulin injecting diabetic I can get bruise if I am in an hurry and don't rotate the injection site around the stomach. The only other times I get bruises is when I play ping pong off the furniture because I am tired and need the loo or a drink during the night!
