PIP Decision/ Need reconsideration.

Well After applying on June 22nd 2015 I got my decision today I have been awarded the standard rate for both care and mobility. I am 1 point of each for the higher rate and I am a little annoyed that they have got 4 of the answers completely wrong so I am going to call for a reconsideration.

Has anyone else had to do this?

I had the same result as your self, so close to higher rate and in the report there was quite a lot wrong or different to what I had said but I was to scared to appeal because of all the horror stories, I think if I felt stronger and had a bit of energy I would of appealed but haven't got the strength to fight them, we shouldn't have to fight for what we need as none of us chose this illness, good luck and keep us updated xx

Grhhh I have just done a long post to you and lost it I am new to tablets and are having to do this on one as confined to bed at the moment. Yes I did this for Dla and they gave me the award that they had stopped s they said they had based it on my form and my Gp's report which in fact they had never received. I had joy in informing them that a Tribunal would love a decision made on a document that did not exist!

Hi Ray yes they wrote back within a week saying they had looked at my claim again and reconsidered their decision and gave me back my DLA. One small step for mankind as the say. I think they realised they would be laughed out of court.x

I have never been through anything of this nature, but I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck if you decide to appeal the decision.

My husband was turned down again after reconsideration now have to go to court but I think his letter wasn't read as many points he made not mentioned they told him its not the illness it's the effect on his life which he did cover in letter and send photos they said no new evidence sent so now letter writing again he feels he's begging after working since he left school at 15 he's 63 now in all those years he was only out of work for 6 months the stress is unbearable for both of us please god he gets better news from the court ok rant over sorry

Keep going DWP reconsidered its own reconsideration! After reading evidence. Enhanced mobility givenback carless since August 7

Now have to wwait for 12weeks new car.Get an advisor

I missed out by a point saying i could manage my medication when I often overdose due to not remembering if I have taken it or not over forget to take it full stop. Also saying I could manage complex budgeting descision, which my partner has had to take over because I can't manage simple payments of bills so has had to set up direct debits for me etc, and on mobility they have said i can plan and follow a route unaided, I don't go anywhere on my own cause I get lost ggggrrrr makes me mad

Hi in mine they said I couldn't walk unaided more than 50 meters,then said I could plan and follow a route unaided. I was told that meant that I knew how to plan,i.e. which bus to get.

I didn't ask for a reconsideration.

Morning sjm81 that's what I told asser and wrote in reconsideration letter completely ignored same score as original score sheet I'm convinced they are so busy they just keep saying no without looking at letter's and the photos I sent no mention of them not giving up so annoyed

Hi it's so wrong they can treat us like this, my hubby appealed his desicion this is after the reconsideration and when we went it had been moved to a court room, we went in and before we had chance to sit down we where told not to tell lies just the truth, because some answers had been put on differently than what we had said .. His claimed was denied.

It really was so awful how we were treated came out so upset. we would never want to go through that again. I wish I was stronger to stand up to them xx

Just spoke to them they have ask to write letter explaining why these answers are wrong and also any evidence so I shall ask my dr to wrote a letter as well. I don't know what evidence they want

The reason why I sent photos was because my health problems are visual you can see problems with knee and ankle but no mention of them in letter back so were are my photos will have to get more printed now

yes i had this,

took it to appeal, got a phone call from dwp and said they reconsiidered, and gave me enhanced care and standard mobility, 4 points for planning journey, 4 points for moving around, so wouldnt even be able to apply for blue badge, lucky i went for medical at the council and got my badge .
