I've just spent last night away in our caravan and slept like a princess and the pea every joint I lie on is in agony, I've been round a castle, lake and small town of Oswestry all in my wheelchair but felt like I've walked miles.

Oh dear, that is so sad, yet understandable, I too am like the princess and the pea unless I have multiple memory foam layers to sleep on. Isn't Oswestry lovely, I used to stop there en route to North Wales, long ago and far away, rather than going the motorway way. Is there any way you can have a rest somewhere comfy tonight, perhaps a b&b ? just so that you can perhaps enjoy tomorrow a bit more.

Sending lots of positive healing vibes your way 😀😀

I think that foggy has said it all, so i will just send you hugs.

Evening sue how are you doing my friend?

in reply to Fibrofoggiest

Tired now, but at least my legs arent playing up, yet. they have been bad for the past week and as soon as they start all i can do is bath followed by bed. So when i suddenly go of line you will know why.

Hugs :)

Hi Mayrose54, I would just like to say....... I suffer restless legs too, but if you also suffer Cramps, try having a glass of Tonic Water(yes it tastes rank lol)before bed. It contains quinine. Hope it helps. XX

in reply to Vicster52

Thanks for the advice but i have tried quinine tablets as well as tonic water, it helps with cramp but does nothing for RLS. :)

Sorry I don't mean it worked for Restless Legs, just cramps.

in reply to Vicster52

I only seem to suffer from cramp when on holiday, probably due to being on my feet more.

Because of the problem i had on a normal air bed when i couldnt get up of the floor to walk about my daughter and son in law bought us a full height air bed, its great though it does have a tendency to tip you out if you get too close to the edge.

The last time we went i got cramp in both legs at once, so i rolled over on to the edge so that it would tip me out onto my feet. My hubby thought that i was falling out and grabbed me round the waist.

So there we were having a wrestling match with me yelling at him to loose me and that i had cramp. :P

I know it probably wasn't funny to you at the time, but, I had to laugh(that's my weird sence of humour). I will give you a laugh now. A few weeks ago, my partner & I went for a few drinks at my local pub(5 mins walk down the road) My partner was singing on the kareoke...... I got up at the side of him, the next min I was on my knees on the floor(how embarrassing) ouch..... Lol. Subsequently..... 1 hell of a bruise the size of an orange next day, n yet I still laugh about it. Xx

in reply to Vicster52

Oh yes it was funny. :P

What wasnt funny was when we just had the normal air bed. I struggle to get up off the floor at the best of times. So having cramp and nothing to hold onto to get up was blooming painful.

May do you go camping?

in reply to Vicster52

Yes we have been camping and caravaning all our lives.

Then last year we had to give up our folding camper, it was just too heavy for us to mess with and so we tried going back to light weight tent.

We really struggled to pitch.

So now we have treated ourselves to a top of the range inflatable tent, thanks to Lloyds TSB. and the ppi that they had to pay me.

No poles no messing with ground sheets or bed rooms. all are ready fitted just plug it into an air pump and its ready for pegging out in 5 mins. and ready to move into in 15mins. Great :P

Hi I'm new to the forum but I'd like to ask you if you suffer from restless legs syndrome? I have osteoarthritis and I'm waiting to see if I may have fibromyalgia as well, but for the past 4 yrs I've had rls and wonder if it can be related.

I have changed my bed 4 times ( costing me a fortune) thinking my problems were due to the type of mattress.

This forum has opened my eyes to a lot of things. It's reassuring to know I'm not going loopy. Thanks Jan

Hi jan, taking vitd prescribed by gp after blood tests has helped enormously, as has using epsom salts in bath, for restless legs and spasms. Most fibro sufferers are vwry low on vit d, so do ask to be tested.

in reply to Shazzzy

Thank you Shazzy I will try the Epsom salts and a lot of people would agree about the vit D as well. I've had some bloods done so will take it from there. Hugs 😻

Hi jan, yes RLS is often related to fibro and is often listed as one of the symptoms.

I take Ropinerole a dopermine substitute but there are other meds, have a word with your GP.

It has worked for for years but lately i have been suffering a lot, despite having the dose raised.

I am going to have to go asd have a talk with him.

sue :P

Hi, a few tips that might help. When I go away anywhere, but especially a caravan I take a mattress topper or an extra duvet and put it under the sheet and it helps a lot with horrible, hard or lumpy mattress. I know it won't be the same as your own bed, but it helps a lot.

Hope you feel better soon.

I used to have RLS every night then the dr said take iron tablets and I only get a couple a week now so don't know if it was the tablets. Laurielee I did buy a memory foam mattress from B&M it was rubbish foam one 1/2" thick but will have to get a good one though I think I did too much messing around before we left that caused the pain.

Mayrose it can be very funny camping, last year we went with daughter and family we were having drinks in their tent when my pain got bad so returned to our tent my husband came back later after a few more drinks and proceeded to rub my pain cream all over my back and shoulders when I thought it smelt minty, then we both nearly fell off the inflatable mattress laughing when we found out it was toothpaste he had rubbed in 😔
