Been suffering from FM for about 12 months was told by my doctor in another area to where i am now........that it is all in my mind. Was fuming to say the least. Any ideas besides the obvious to help cope with the pain.

Sorry to hear your frustration, I understand what you mean. Can't add too much on a personal note ,but getting another opinion would be a good idea, just going from experience.. don't just take one opinion, because that answer is just a cop out

Will do I have been seen by a specialist in my old area and was going to start physio just before i moved. Been waiting for medical records to be transferred to new doctors. Will have to see what the new specialist says.

From experience I know how that feels. Been told that before several times until medical records came in. Then doc just said he didn't know enough about Fibro to help me and sent me somewhere else. There are good docs out there and some just don't know enough about it or don't want to know. It's sad and I really hope you find a good doc that is willing to help you.

I am going to state the obvious, find a GP with time to talk to you this is something we hear quite regularly. Fibromyalgia is sadly very real, my Neurologist and Rheumatologist treat it very seriously, I wish everyone with this awful illness was treated with the respect that I benefit from. So I'm afraid you must become more assertive this is your health you are talking about and you deserve better. Lou xx

Hi

Sorry to hear you've been treated so badly.

Is there any chance your current GP will refer you to a Rheumatologist? That way you could get a definitive diagnosis and go from there.

I know you said "apart from the obvious" but have you been referred to a Pain Clinic?

xx

I am so sorry to read that and I would definitely discuss pain management with your new GP. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Taking vit d daily, prescribed by hospital, has really helped with the muscle pain, also using epsom salts in bath. I use a tens machine regularly for pain too. All the best
