My husband was treated by a Bowen therapist, it was amazing but expensive. We couldn't afford further treatment. This is his link but he may not be local to you.

I have come across this from quite a few members but not tried it myself. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck if you decide to give it a go.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Yes, Bowen therapy is quite good for fibromyalgia. It's a series of small gentle moves. I see my therapist everyone two - three weeks. It is also quite calming and relaxing. There is also the added advantage of not having to remove your clothes. Some sessions I have an all over body treatments and at others concentrating in one or two places only. It can last upto about 90 mins. Give it a go. Good luck.

Thank you. It's interesting to have people's thoughts. I was worried about the cost but if it's every two to three weeks that's no too bad. :-)

Hi avnot,

I had Bowen therapy when I first compressed 2 discs in my back, over 9 years ago.It was very expensive and he was a holistic therapist who changed my diet and because I have IBS it lost a lot of weight and was ill for a long time, but I was pain free!

I found someone else who did Bowen a few years ago and I was struggling badly but thought it was my back injury, now know it was fibro. At the first session I had to sit on the floor to get my shoes back on by the third session I stayed on the chair and lifted my foot up onto my knee! It helped with the pain, I had a lot more movement of my body and I slept really well afterwards, so well I wanted to fall asleep as I drove home and it took over half an hour to get there. I have asked every consultant that I have seen why it is not available on the NHS when it seems to work so well for all the people I have spoken to who have had Bowen also. Hope this helps, take care, Redbob.

Thank you, I've heard such good reports about it, I'm so newly diagnosed I'd like to explore everything but haven't money to burn!

I first had bowen therapy as an in patient at the local homeopathic hospita, it was the best treatment i have ever had and i try to go every few weeks to the private clinic for treatment , as others have said sometimes it al over treatment other times specific areas. Worth every penny. Hope it works as well for youtoo.
