My muscles at times feel like they need to stretch, it happens usually at bedtime when I lay done. I have to get up because it feels as if I'm going nuts if I lay there, I can not be still, It is in my whole body. What is it and what do I do?

Morning Stephanie (I hope you don't mind my familiarity😀) and welcome to what I consider to be the very best possible site for support, information and friendship. Could I suggest that you take a peep at our mother site fibroaction.org where you will find a huge amount of information and lists of local support in your area.

In answer to your question, I shall say I have experienced this sensation a couple of times and I find that by actually trying to stretch the muscles does tend to help, unless they are about to go into spasm. You dont say whether or not you have Fibro, but I imagine you have, so I would suggest that you ask your doctor about this, just to make sure there is no other cause. Sorry not to be of more assistance, but others may come along who have had more experience and can give you more advice.

We also try to have some fun here and Ginsing's morning post is always worth taking part in, so I very much look forward to seeing you some more around the forum.

Sending lots of positive healing vibes your way 😀

Foggy x

I suffer from the same issue, normally it is caused by anxiety, I would visit your doctor and explain what is happening, as I did, they should be able to help.

I am so sorry to read that and I would definitely discuss this with your GP as there are medications that they may prescribe for you that could help with this issue.

All my hopes and dreams for you

That's my main problem, it's worse when I've done too much. Takes me 20 mins to get out of bed every morning. If I'm desperate for the loo I walk to it like a penguin. Does my head in. I just go through from toes to head stretching out & it eases off eventually. Xx

Get this as well but worth mentioning to GP or specialist next visit. Stretch and relax is important, if you ever watch a cat or dog get up they do, especially as they get older.

This is just a thought reading your post, I wondered whether you have recently started any new medication. For the first couple of weeks when I started some new meds I had this sensation at night just as though my bod would not settle and as you say I just felt I wanted to keep on stretching it was a very weird sensation. It gradually got much better.

If it carries on I think it would be best to have a word with your GP. Best of luck in getting it resolved.xxx

Hi i suffer with this a lot l bought an electric bed with a massaging mattress and found this to be really helpful when I am having problems as I can change my position for some reason my legs like to be raised and bent while my body likes to be raised as well I think it has something to do with support and then if i turn my mattress on after a few cycles it helps .Before I had the bed i used to wander around the house at night from room to room trying to find relief
