Hi jan and welcome to our forum, which to my mind is the best one there is for support, caring and information. You might like to take a look at our mother site fibroaction.org where you will find answers to a lot of questions you may have.

The people here are all very friendly and we try to have a bit of fun along the way, we are having a virtual picnic on a beach this afternoon, if you fancy joining us, look for Ginsing's post from earlier this morning.....

Sending lots of positive healing vibes your way 😀😀

Hello Jans12,

Welcome to the FibroAction community! :)

I am sorry to read you feel you are not receiving the healthcare that you need from your current GP. Would downloading our information & printing it to discuss with our GP be of any help do you think or maybe you can make an appointment with another in the practice instead.

Have you got anyone who could come with you as I am sure the way you are feeling must be difficult to deal with the exertion of appointments each time. Some moral support may be useful especially to recall any information in case fatigue takes over when you get home.

I wonder if this FAQ may be helpful to you;

healthunlocked.com/fibroact...

Fibro is usually best managed using a combined approach including medications, complementary therapies, relaxation, gentle exercise, pacing etc, but you cannot think about these thing whilst you need to address your symptoms. Of course, some people with Fibro have other illnesses as Fibro can come secondary to Hypermobility, RA etc, which on occasion can complicate things as the condition can impact on the Fibro symptoms also.

I do hope visiting your GP again as an informed patient will help you. Unfortunately we do hear of people needing to change surgeries to get the healthcare they need. It shouldn't be the case but sadly it is due to lack of awareness & understanding.

Do let us know how you get on & in the meanwhile enjoy chatting to our lovely members. :)

Best Wishes

Emma :)
