I've just joined tonight myself. Ive had this for five years now. Believe me when I say I know what your going though. For me it's feeling useless. There are days when I can't move my hands for example and can't do ANYTHING. Hang in there hunny. It's all we can do. Xxxx you have my love
Hello to you both and welcome to what I consider to be the best site there is for Fibro sufferers. If you visit our mother site fibroaction.org you will find a lot of advice and information which I think you will find at beneficial
Charliepop, I'm wondering of you have been or could be referred to a pain management team by your GP, this can be very helpful in helping you find a way forward with this rotten condition.
Meg, it is good to meet you too, you have my full sympathy with regards to your hands, I too find it hard at times, and painful, but I try to push through it if I can, I'm afraid I'm a "use it or lose it" person, not that it always works though
One of the things we find here is that a light hearted conversation, usually started on our lovely administrator Ginsing's morning post, and some laughter possible at Pic of the day, can release feel good endorphins which can rally help lift our mood. It's so nice to meet you both and I much look forward to seeing you round the forum. Everyone is very friendly, and I'm sure you will benefit from being here

Hi Charliepop
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I genuinely hope that you find the forum useful, informative and loads of fun! I agree completely with Foggy as a Pain management Clinic may work quite well for you? There are plenty of medications out there for Fibro, it is a case of finding the right combination that works for you.
I want to wish you all the best of luck.
Ken
Hi Charliepop,
You have found the right forum for people who understand how you feel. You will find interesting and fun posts here so do join in, it works for me as a really good way of distracting myself from the aches and pains. Hope to see you about and before I forget, a big welcome
Hi Carliepop, I completely get where you're coming from. I've just had a bad reaction to pain meds I've been taking and now scared to try them again but the pain is really bad so will probably give in and take them again but hate the side effects of them. Also I can't take them in work (part time work) so have to wait until my days off but by then my mood is extremely low from the pain and exhaustion!
What I would say is when you do have time off...........be kind to yourself, have a warm bath and rest and sleep when you want to. I know it sounds basic but I do find if I'm a little bit selfish at times and rest and catch up on sleep then it really helps.
Welcome. I am new to this site but I've had the diagnosed of FM for 22 years. Exercise helps me manage my pain if I don't over do it. I have a FT desk job that leaves me in pain; I force myself to walk about whenever I can. On the weekends, one day is usually a "pajama day"; I lounge, bath, nap and generally care for myself. The other day is for a bit of housework if I don't do too much. Perhaps the most difficult part of my pain management is knowing how much activity is too much. Its a game; my target always moves. I should add that I'm an empty nester. My life and the condition of my home was much different with young children.
Hi everyone I am new to this, joined a couple of days ago after ending up in A&E with severe chest pains thought it was cardiac but seems it's my fibro never had this before though...... Was diagnosed in 2010 and tried pretty much everything. Had my 2nd hip replacement in June14 and just recently been feeling really poorly again! So fed up with the pain again and had to take time off work. Got to go to the doctors to try and get some pregabalin prescribed as they won't put it on repeat.
