on 2 diffent meds which say the same but in lower dosage work on nerve pain & 1 defo helps with sleep
I too take Prozac but again in a lower dose than you would for depression , but helps with pain levels so don't worry if they help...
Good luck Sue x
It is a Tricyclic antidepressant and often used for neuropathic pain,, the more common ones prescribed seem to be Amytriptyline and Nortriptyline but for whatever reason; your Dr has chosen this particular one for you, there could be many reasons for this, including compatibility with another medication or perhaps just the Dr's experience with and preference for this medication. The tricyclic antidepressants are very effective at this type of pain (Neuropathic) relief they were not great as antidepressant type medications.
It dose not mean that you are depressed!
Could I point out that our comments are only based on our own experiences. In every incidence it is always advisable to contact your own GP with any queries on medications, they are professionals, we are not.
Having said that I am sending positive healing vibes your way

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your medications, and remember if these ones do not suit you then there are plenty of alternatives that you could possibly discuss with your GP or Medical Specialist?
All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi yes I've been on Dosulipin for a long time now, long before I was diagnosed with fibro. I had and unfortunately still have herniated discs in my back, lower and upper, and arthritis. These cause a lot of pain and not just in my back, that's why fibro went mis-diagnosed for so long. My then Gp (sorely missed due to retirement ) put me on Dosulipin 175mgms and I can honestly say it has helped, and not only with the pain it helps me sleep as well. If they are supposed to help with depression and anxiety well I'm sorry but they are definitely failing in their duties with me on that score!!
I really hope that you get the same kind of relief from taking Dosulipin as I have done.
Warmest regards
Susan x
