Good morning everyone. Just wondering if anyone has tried gabapentin tablets? My G.P. keeps trying me on different meds to help me with my pain. Tried morphine tablets and patches. But had bad reaction from them. Thank you. Xx

Hi shirlalee, my consultant recommended i try these for migraines, they did not work, but they did relieve some of the fibro pain. So i now take gaba, tramadol and neurofen for fibro and was given amitripytline, the pill and teeth guard to wear st night for migraines. The pill did not help but other two did, the amitriptyline which i can only take one of, i take at 6 pm and it helps so much with sleep so overall good result !!

Hi Snazzy thank you so much for your response I also take tramadol and co_codamol as well as most people on here I have other problems. So have to be careful what I take. The amitripline did not agree with me so doctor took me of them. I feel like a giunea pig sometimes. But thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Xx

Hi,

I switched from amitriptyline to gabapentin about 7 months ago and would not switch back for love nor money. it took about 2-3 months for the gabapentin to really work but now it does it really helps with the pain! the first few months were not great, lots of pain, difficulty sleeping etc but now I feel so much better than I did on the amitriptyline. as you know we are all different but if you try it don't give up too quickly if it doesn't help you straight away. it is worth the wait! don't get me wrong it is not a miracle cure but it helps.

good luck :-)
