Oh dear, I do feel for you. Please consider ringing Citizens Advice as they can help you with advice and form filling. It sounds like you may need a social worker on your side who can also advise you and get things put in place to help you both. Don't be frightened of them as they are there to help. Maybe if your home was assessed your husband could get the carers support which he might need too. I'm sorry I'm a bit vague on this but believe you should be entitled to a lot more help.
I am so sorry to read this, but I would recommend that you ring social services and request a Occupational Health Assessment, and a social worker will assess your needs and help you claim whatever help is available for you.
