Has anybody tried the new Alpha Stim M? Heard it is v good but expensive. Just wondering if it does exactly what it says it does
Hi grace23
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance.
I have read up on this topic, and if I am to be totally honest, it is a very over priced TENS Machine! However, this is just my opinion and I am not speaking with my FibroAction hat on here in any way whatsoever! So I would like to make that clear.
On one particular website, (which I cannot paste as it would breach FibroAction guidelines), they cost £749. However, A TENS Machine can cost as little as £20. I do have a TENS Machine and I think it is marvelous!
All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi I agree with Ken, I bought one from ebay about 2 years ago for £260 hoping it would be good. It's not as good as my tens machine form the pain clinic. I would say save your money and try a normal tens. Hope this helps, take care, kath. X
I had one of these and the ear clips appeared to work well in helping me sleep. However, I returned it because the cost of replacement pads and gel is outrageous and it did little if anything for pain.
I paid over £300 for mine ,it does work but due to other conditions I am unable to use it.There is a website that you can look up to see testimonials good and bad.Worth atry if you buy it on try and return.Hope this helps a little
Hello Grace. I don`t know if you have ever tried a TENS machine, If not it may be a good idea to see if you can try one against your skin, just for a miniute or so. my skin is so sensitive I con not stand the sensation for even a second or two and others may find the same.
Hope you find one that does suit you. Hugs sue xx
They were trying it out at the fibro conference, apparently you can borrow one for a few weeks to see if it works for you before you buy one.
Hi Jjudith, thank you so much for that, I was wondering if I could ask you please, did it emanate a differing sensation to a TENS? Or were they similar? And what are these different ear functions that I have read about please? Sorry to be nuisance.
Thanks

Hi Ken, I didn't personally have a demonstration at the conference, but several people did and they said that they did not have any sensation as with TENS when they were wearing the Alpha Sim. The contacts can be worn for several hours, they are portable, and two of the contacts are designed to clip on to the ear. They are meant to help with sleep and pain, the person who was demonstrating the device has fibro and used it herself and she said that it had completely transformed her life, from being wheelchair bound to being completely independent and able to hold down a job. But I can't vouch for it personally as it is one of the things that I haven't yet tried, although I have considered a trial but haven't got round to it. I will try to find the details of the website and send it to you by personal message if I find it. Hope this helps!
