I have and it can be very informative, plus it's good to chat with fellow fibromites :)

Hi carolineismisdiagnosed

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I have never been to anything like that, but I have pasted you a couple of links so you can see where the Fibro groups are operating, so hopefully there is one near you?

I want to wish you all the best of luck with finding a suitable group.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Speaking from my personal view point. After having condition for 25+ years and forming a support group years ago that stopped after 2 years did not think I would gain anything but was told I was wrong to believe that so I went and yes I did learn a lot. Good many laughs and some tears as well as new ways to cope and a realisation that we are not all the same. Good luck with yours but think about what you say until you know you can trust them. Like a curate's egg it was good in parts.

Hi,

I went to my first fibro support meeting, in Kings Lynn. It was really lovely, made very welcome and just to chat to people who really understand was very comforting! You could say 'does anyone have......... 'And it was so nice for a reply like, 'oh yes all the time' and 'I find doing ........helps'.

If you have a group near you, I highly recommend you giving it a go. I am finding fibro very isolating, as moved to a new area and then became very ill with other things, so hadn't met a sole locally up until a few months ago, so it was good to talk and laugh. X
