Hi i was initially treated for hypothyroidism 3.5 stone put on in 6 weeks, hairloss , fatigue, clumsiness...due to heart murmur was placed on low dose 25mg levo. My heart rate was 39 whilst having an ecg & i was kept in hospital for a few hrs but then discharged non the wiser.A couple of months went by & after feeling initially better gradually felt much worse with cramps & insomnia, forgetfulness & a host of other symptoms so went back to gp. Blood test for cortisol resulted in phone call next day & hospital stay of 2weeks 53nmol/l . Consultant took me straight off levo saying i didnt have thyroid issues. No treatment since but mri's did show a rathkes cleft & pituitary microadenoma. I've seen optician who has referred me to opthalmist as left side peripheral vision field compromised? Tiredness getting much worse & headache has been constant for weeks making me feel really nauseous. I've been told that i have fibromyalgia & that the cysts findings are incidental & have nothing to do with symptoms & that my blood & hormone levels are all ok?! Sorry for lengthy first ever post blathering but this is actually condensed version:) i look forward to a response :)

Hi Manx1

Firstly, I want to welcome you to the forum, and I genuinely hope that you will find it as useful as I do, and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues.

I have pasted below a link for you to the NHS Choices PDF file relating to rathkes cleft & pituitary microadenoma. I hope that it will be useful to you as at the beginning of the PDF it looks at what patients present with so I am hoping that it can give you some idea of where you stand?

From what I have read in your post, you appear not to be on any medications for this at all, is that correct? I was also wondering if you were on any medications for your Fibro?

I have also pasted you the link to our mother site FibroAction below, as it has a great deal of useful Fibro information:

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your treatments, and I look forward to bumping into you around the site.

Hi Ken

Thankyou for your response & the links provided are really appreciated :) i started yesterday on pregablin 50 mg to increase over ten days to 300mg (twice daily) & 30mg of duloxetine (once nightly). I'm hoping that'll sort me out. I was just concerned that whilst i was in hospital & prior to i had slightly elevated prolactin & suppressed thyroid & acht resulting in low cortisol...but apparently its all fine now? Could that just be fibro playing havoc with my body as opposed to the two cysts i have? Thanks to everybody at health unlocked for such an informative & welcoming website :)
