Hi Steven

I have not been on here much lately as I have been a bit ill (Nearly Dying) but when I saw your post I had to reply with another that was posted some months ago and hope that if not curing helps you understand that you are not alone.

The link is to someone who posted five months ago so hope you can join in at this late stage, anyway here it is- healthunlocked.com/fibroact...

I expect if you go o the old posts of Questions you will find it under EYES.

Good luck with your search but I am sorry I have no other advice to give you as what you are suffering with sounds horrible, when I get tired (which is a lot) I get double vision to the extent I have to cover one eye to stop it but to have this all the time must be horrendous.

Take care and the kindest of regards

Terry

Hi jerwood

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and I genuinely hope that you find it as useful as I do?

The link that tettridge has pasted you is well worth a read! I have pasted you a link to the FibroAction symptoms page, and it tells you that headaches, migraines and sensitivities are part and parcel of Fibro, so I hope that you find it useful:

fibroaction.org/Pages/What-...

If your symptoms persist or get any worse, you really should discuss the issue with your GP just to rule anything else out and keep your GP up to date with how you are getting on.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Steve.

Not much help but I see lights as well and my eyes passed the opticians tests. I do get migraines.

HI Steven, my problems started with eye issues and I had some really serious problems. I have myofascial pain syndrome, its really common with fibro but rarely diagnosed, but 70% of people with fibro have it. It means that the centre of the muscle forms a knot and the muscle shortens and causes pain, but in my face it caused a lot of eye problems with my left eye, ie., pain, blurriness, changing accommodation or focus, (I had to change my glasses every half an hour or so, I kept 5 pairs in my bag and had to keep swopping them), headaches, face pain, I even had problems with my eye pressure. When they gave me drops for that the eye pressure they caused my eye pressures to rise rather than fall as I had paradoxical effects to medication, which means the opposite happens to what is expected, I also have that with other drugs as well. Well, I had a trigger point injection in my head and the back of my neck, and then I learned how to do trigger point therapy using a book by Clare Davies called Trigger Point Therapy Workbook. The trigger points that affect my eyes are in the muscle that is over my ear, the temporal muscle, and the muscle that surrounds my eye, I massage it in the position of the eyebrow. That was three years ago, my eyes are ok now, its the rest of me that doesn't work!!!

I don't know if you have Myofascial Pain Syndrome, but you might have, but it is very difficult to get a diagnosis because even fibro doctors in UK aren't always familiar with it, let alone GPs, you can get it diagnosed at a private pain clinic such as the London Pain Clinic or in USA but its expensive. I don't know what the patches of light are, it might be something that is normal, but it might be that recently people have been shining lights into your eyes and you notice that it happens. I am used to having my eyes checked now, and when they shine a light into your eyes it does have funny effects sometimes, and after I've had a light shining into my eye its as if my eye/brain remembers it for a time and the light effect stays in my vision for a time afterwards, but I know that is normal. If you are worried, you can always ask your GP to refer you to an eye hospital, or you can go yourself to an emergency eye clinic at your nearest eye hospital and see what they say. Then you will see a doctor and not just an optician. Hope you feel better soon, eyes are very depressing.

Hi I also get this in one eye without pain & sometimes followed by headache. Last week

Was diagnosed with ocular migraines.

Worth speaking to your GP about - could be this or many other things. Best to get it checked.

Hi Steven,

when I had my sight test and mentioned various things I was experiencing the optician replied with " no wonder, I see from your records you have fibromyalgia". She told me that she had noticed people with Fibro do have changing sight issues even though the sight tests often show everything as normal.

Hugs
