Hi I get very very itchy after a shower, especially arms and legs, I've had it for years. I get dry quickly and then use cream or body lotion which helps a bit. Xx

Yep, me too. Usually legs but can be anywhere. Like previous answer I put moisturiser on asap and it helps a little. I get urticaria too - that just drives me crazy!!

Hi Poppy-sue :)

I think most of us have episodes of itchiness which is really irritating. I have asteotic eczema and have to apply this cream for this and lotion for that............. it takes forever to get a shower and get ready.

Have you spoke to your GP about it as they may be able to help you get some kind of relief for it. I got a referral to dermatology for diagnosis and was prescribed lotions and potions. This does not necessarily mean the same for you as we are different but worth geting it checked out.

I find it best to let skin dry naturally or to very lightly pat it dry so as to keep as much moisture in it as possible as this helps to keep the itchy level lower. Moisturising is also good, keep away from perfumed bathing products, wash powders and soaps which may help to dry your skin out even that one which is pH sensitive!!

You could keep a diary to record when the itching happens and what you think may have triggered it whether you think it to be your bath washes, shower gel, wash powder was the water too hot when you showered or even something you ate :) It will be useful when you go to discuss it with your GP

Wishing you wellness and hoping you find relief soon, remember I'm not a medical professional just a fellow fibromite sharing some info and advice please let me know how you get on and if you get a result :)

Sending soothing fluffies to cool the itching :)

Hello Poppy-Sue,

I wondered if you have had any blood tests recently as some vitamin deficiencies can have itching as a symptom and if you haven't had your Thyroid checked I may consider asking if they can be done too. Yes I have a Blue Badge GP wrote to confirm my fatigue levels and need, then I received it since then I won the benefits which mean I qualify too.

Please can I provide you with a link about Blue Badge Scheme below;

Hope this helps

So i will check out the link.

Hi Poppy-sue

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.

It sounds like one of those problems whereby you should really discuss with with your GP as it could stem from so many different issues.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken x

All I know is that with Fibro, I have always taken med's, used and eat things that are now off limits. It's like your body doesn't accept these things anymore. If you use a sponge you may want to go to a washcloth white only, that's what my doctor suggested, plus using hospital soap. Hope this helps.

I don't use soap at all because my skin is so itchy and dry. I put baby oil and an Avon bath oil called Skin So Soft and E45 bath essence in the water when I have a bath. Instead of soap I use aqueous cream (any chemist) or Diprobase (prescription) which also helps to moisturise. The only issue with using all this lot (apart from expense!) is it leaves the bath like a skating rink!
