Hi Sarah, I had my diagnosis by a Rheumatologist 8 years ago, so things may have changed since then.

All he did was read my doctor's referral letter, asked a few questions about my symptoms, and pressed on my pressure (tender) points.

He was very rude, and offered me no support or advice ( not even a leaflet!!). I actually left his room feeling worse than before I went in :(

So I sincerely hope that you have a "nice" rheumatologist.

I took my husband with me for support , so if you have a family member or friend to go with you that would be great.

Also, I suggest you write a list of symptoms/ things you want to ask him/her, so you don't forget anything.

Make sure they offer you some advice on treatment and support.

Good luck and let us know how it goes xxx. :)

That's great that your friend is going with you.... maybe you could ask her to write down brief notes about what is said during the consultation, so that you can read through them afterwards. Xx

Thank you feeling more anxious I just want to speak to someone who knows what there talking about instead of just throwing pain killers at me, I've not taking my meds this morn as I want to be able to explaine where and how much pain I'm in.

So I'm back from my app and can't say I'm feeling any better or in the know, after being pulled all about a student then again by consultant they confirmed I have fibro, they have said I am to have physio which I've already got a huge amount of anxiety about, they took an X-ray of my hands and am going back to have a scan of my knee! The consultant tells me I may not always have this! Is this the case?

Hi Sarah23

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry but I have missed wishing you luck for your appointment, but I wanted to say that I sincerely hope that you found it useful and that it gave you something to think about?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken x
