Diagnosed with fibromayalgia this week .
Hi,
welcome. You have found a very supportive forum to join although I am sorry you have Fibromyalgia. Headaches, especially Migraine are very common. Who diagnosed you? They might help you with the next steps. I would recommend asking your GP to refer you to the Pain Clinic. They can be brilliant with help and support. I was lucky enough to do a Fibromyalgia Management course at my local hospital. Didn't alter the pain but helped me cope better.
You'll get loads of info here so grab a cuppa and make yourself at home.

And Jillylin is one of the best. She covered it all. So I'll just add
welcome and gentle hugs

Hi glamourpuss

You'll find all the categories there on the right of the screen where you can browse through peoples posts. The creative corner and comedy corner are quite popular and occasionally we may have a fibro fun and frolic day where we can 'virtually' go anywhere its amazing where we can take our imaginations If you need answers about benefits, doctors or even medicines, alternative medicines there are sections on the fibroaction site if you hit the link above.
However, we do have our serious sides too and are here to help and support if we can
We all like to blow off steam whether its with a moan or a giggle so please don't be afraid to join in

Hi there glamourpuss, can I join the others in welcoming you to our excellent site. the knowledge and support given by the members with a huge wealth of experience is second to none.
I too struggle with headaches and migraines (big big difference between the two), so you ha my full understanding and sympathy on that score. Sian has given you the link to where you will find all sorts of extremely good information and excellent medical backup behind the subjects covered.
I am sad that you have fibro I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I think you really have found the very best possible place to come for support and the odd bit of fun here and there to help take our minds off the pain, it's odd how well that works, just a laugh of or a smile can make a bad day just a little mor bearable.
Sending you positive healing vibes
Foggy x
Hi glamourpuss
Firstly, welcome to the forum and I sincerely hope that you find it as useful as I have.
I wondering who diagnosed you? If it was your GP then you could try asking them about pain management? There are a number of medications available and your GP could also refer you to a pain clinic at your local hospital. I also get a substantial amount of headaches and migraines and my GP gives me co-codomol for the pain and metacloperamide for nausea from the migraines. Are you taking any medications yet for your Fibro?
I am sure that if you read all the info on the site by FibroAction it will give you a greater insight into what you are facing. I would also like to say how sorry I am that you have got this illness.
Take care and I really hope to bump into you again around the site.

hi there so sorry you have this retched disease too, my advise is be kind to yourself, rest regularly and don't have too high expectations of yourself, lovely warm baths can be soothing, amitriptyline is a common med and it does help if you have a sleep issue. take care and all the best.
